- Locate any leaks in your business to prevent costly heating and cooling loss, you can easily plug leaks with weather stripping and caulking.
- Tune up your HVAC system by professionally servicing it every year to avoid large, expensive replacements and regularly replace filters.

If you're closing for a long holiday weekend
- Adjust thermostats for non-business hours:
- In summer, above 80 degrees
- In winter, between 60 and 65 degrees
- Turn off all lights except safety and security lights.
- Send a reminder to building occupants to turn off all unused office equipment including computers, monitors, printers, copiers, fax machines, and scanners.
- If your water-heating system includes a circulation pump, turn it off.
