Request Public Records
Benton PUD complies with the requirements of the Washington Public Records Act. Our public records are available to members of the public for review, inspection, or as copies. Some records may be exempt from disclosure, either in whole or in part, in accordance with state (RCW 42.56) and/or federal law.
Many of our public records are available on the website. If you are unable to find a record on the website, you may submit a request for records via email or you may download our records request form and submit in person or via regular mail.
Requests made in person are accepted at our Kennewick office located at 2721 W 10th Ave., or at our Prosser office located at 250 N Gap Road, between the hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Thursday.
When a request for public records is received, we will respond within 5 business days, in one of the following ways:
- Providing the record(s) requested.
- Acknowledging receipt of the request and providing a reasonable estimate of time when the record(s) will be available. Note that additional time may be required to respond because of the need to clarify the request, locate and assemble the record(s) requested, notify third parties affected by the request, or determine whether any exemptions apply.
- Denying or partially denying the request. If a request is denied, we will provide an explanation of why, along with the applicable exemptions.
Please contact Benton PUD if you have not received a response within five business days to ensure this request was received.
Our Public Records policy offers complete details of Benton PUD’s public records request process.
