Take control of your monthly energy expenses with our Pay As You Go program. Instead of waiting for a bill every month to find out what you owe, use the SmartHub® app to track your usage and account balance. Like filling your car's gas tank, you choose when to fill up and how much electricity to buy on a prepaid basis. SmartHub® lets you easily see how many estimated days remaining until your balance runs out. It even sends reminder notifications when your balance is running low so you won't forget to fill up.

Pay As You Go offers many benefits, including:
- Payment flexibility- No matter where you are, any time or any place, you can make the payment that works for you through SmartHub® or any of our self-service payment options. Pay As You Go works for different styles of payment preferences.
- Some customers prefer to "fill the tank" and buy weeks of usage all at once, then relax and not worry about paying for electricity for a while.
- Other customers prefer to keep their balance regularly topped off, making regular payments of smaller, more convenient amounts instead of receiving one larger bill each month.
- Convenience - Enrolling in Pay As You Go opens up prepaid controls within SmartHub®, allowing you to easily check your balance and see an estimate of how many days the balance will cover based on your household's electricity usage. When your balance is running low, SmartHub® will send you an email, text, and/or push notification to let you know it's time to make a payment. You can even customize the low balance threshold in case you want to be notified sooner.
- Insight into daily usage - SmartHub® allows all customers to review their daily and hourly usage. Only Pay As You Go customers, though, have usage deducted daily instead of being charged monthly, so they also get insight into how much they are spending on electricity each day. It's easy on Pay As You Go to make small changes or weatherization improvements and then see the impact in savings the very next day.
- No fees - Because you're paying ahead, the Pay As You Go program has no fees and no deposits!
Eligibility
Pay As You Go is available to Residential and Small General Service business customers. SmartHub® enrollment is required.
Customers can still be enrolled in Round Up for Helping Hands, receive low-income discounts or financial assistance on the program.
