Benton PUD employees are having a yard sale to raise funds for Benton PUD’s Helping Hands Program. The yard sale will take place from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, July 9 at the Benton PUD Auditorium located on Ely and 10th Avenue in Kennewick.

Adult and children clothing, household items, books, toys and more will be sold and on display inside and outside of the auditorium.

The Benton PUD's Helping Hands Program raises funds for customers who may need help on their electric bill.  Benton PUD customers may donate to Helping Hands year around with a one-time donation or by requesting an additional amount of $1 or more to be added to their electric bill each month.

High temperatures in the summer increases power usage, making it challenging for some customers to pay their bill.  Employees decided they would like to help raise funds by volunteering to do a yard sale.  All proceeds will be donated to Helping Hands.

Helping Hands donations are distributed by the Community Action Connections to Benton PUD customers who meet the guideline set by a volunteer committee of private individuals, representatives from public entities, low-income groups and local utilities.
