Underground Utilities Locator

Prior to any excavations for poles or trenching, the State requires that you obtain locates for any underground utilities in the area under construction. Locates can be obtained, at no cost to you, by calling the Utilities Underground Location Center (1-800-424-5555).

They require 48-hours notice, and will have locators come to your site and locate any and all utilities in your construction area. These people will spray paint, or stake, the ground directly over each utility, signifying its location. Each utility has a color assigned to its facilities.
